McMillan A-3 stock question

Has anyone used this stock to build a long range hunting rig? Can it be shot off hand if the situation arises? If you have used this stock, what are your thoughts and impressions?

one of the best field stocks out there...

cant decide whether i like it or the a5 better...but i will know in a month or so...
