Good starter scope

I have $200 bucks to spend on a scope for a Savage 10FP in .308. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

Re: Good starter scope

Well, you're not gonna get a great scope for $200, but I would say the best you could get would be the Bushnell elite 3200 10x40mm... 10x40mm I had one on my old .30-06, and it tracked accurately, thought the glass wasn't the best...

Re: Good starter scope

If you can save up another $100 I would look at the Super Snipers from www.swfa.com

For a quality long range scope, very hard to beat. Will take the 308 Win out a LONG way with the vertical adjustment the Super Sniper offers. The 10x model has over 100 moa of vertical adjustment.

For the money very hard to beat for a long range scope. This all depends on what you want to do with the rifle though. For low light shooting they are not the best but the 10x is not bad at all.

Re: Good starter scope

Check out Swift and/or Mueller, both have some pretty good optics.
