contolling movement with optics set at higher power.

OK, went to the range yesterday and cranked up the power on the scope to 16. Was shooting at 100 yards and could not control the movement of the scope. The crosshairs were moving everytime my heart beat. Any tips to controlling the movement?

Equipment 700 Sendero 7mm STW shooting 1/4 - 1/2 MOA.

Heavier gun stock.
Better rests both front and rear.
Wider flatter forend.(Or better bi-pod)
More stable bench.
Time your shots and position the gun so you are on your mark at the pause between heartbeats.
Breathing control will help too.

I didn't know they got any heavier or wider than the sendero.

Good advice I'll try it out next weekend.

I dont know what your bench set up is, but I have a concrete bench that allows me to use my lead sled. Very very very sturdy rest. Just sit the gun in the rest, put some sandbags on it, and put the crosshairs where you want your bullet to go. If your shooting off a makeshift rest, your breathing is a key factor. Try to break the shot at your natural resting beat, just after you let your breath out. Hope this helps.
