At that price range, their is only one real competitor IMHO, that of Savage. I have the model 16 Bear Hunter 300 WSM
, 0.41" 3 shot pattern at 100 yards right out of the box. That is a little more than $500, but the model 11/111 is almost as good, but without the accustock. The 111 XP trophy with the Nikon is not a bad setup for that price. The Tikkas in that price range are so light that they are real donkey kicks, until you get a muzzle brake
and then you are back at the fancier Savage price range once you do that...yes, I am a little biased towards Savage. I don't think anything is better for fresh out of the box shooters.
