Swiss-made, accurate to 20,000 meters (more than 12 miles), includes all accessories as equipped originally from Deutsche Optik (importer). Excellent condition considering these were all made between WWII and the mid-70s.

Is the Wild like the Barr and Stroudor binoculars. Have heard of the Wild but don't know much about it.

Yes, it's the same sorta design, but the Wild is Swiss-made. See the details here by the company that imported most of them:

One more question. Can the Wild be callibrated in yards and not meters or both? I didn't see anything about that. I am use to yards and would have to get use to reading in meters i guess. Thanks

Meters, but the conversion is easy. Meters are about 10% more, so 100 meters is 110 yards, 900 meters is about 1,000y.

Besides, weren't we (the USA) supposed to switch to the metric system about 40 years ago? [img]images/icons/wink.gif[/img]

You've got mail. Just out of curiosity, do you have any use for a brand-new Win Model 70 in .300 Win Mag? It's push feed/parkerized.synthetic stock. It has about 40 rounds down the tube and prints tight groups with 220gr MKs. Load came straight out of a manual. Comes with 50pcs of Win brass and RCBS dies. Will include cash to sweeten the deal if your'e interested.

The Swiss Wild (pronounced "veld")_ Optical rangefinder is a good one. The optics are much better then the American military Barr and Stroud and they are calibrated in Meters instead of yards.

Not really a problem converting to yards by using the 10% aready mentioned.

Nate has this unit at a VERY reasonable price range and if anyone wants/needs a good optical rangefinder, this might just be the one for you.

The top military optical units used by the longrange hunters are (in no particular order), the German Zeiss, Swiss Wild and American Barr and Stroud.
The Barr and Stroud was made in Scotland for the US army artillery units during WW2 and Korea.

The Bausch and Lomb opticle units were used in WW1 and some of those are still being used by the LR crowd.
