Built this rifle and have now gone on a different route for my hunting rifle.
Specs as follows:
Remington 700 long action, blueprinted
Remington 700 bolt, trued to action
Remington 700 old style trigger
Shilen Select Match 9 twist finished at 24", fluted, light palma taper
HS Precision stock, added texture for better grip with gloves in cold/wet/snowy weather
BDL bottom metal
**Stock is hydrodipped in Kuiu Verde
Barreled action, bolt, and bottom metal cerakoted titanium
**bolt shroud is uncoated stainless
The stock texturing has chipped (see photo). The stock was hydrodipped before I noticed the missing chunk. I personally never cared, but in the case of full disclosure, there you have it.
The rear tang of the action is discolored. I have no idea how this happened, if it was cross contamination during the coating process of the day. Again, I never cared as it is a hunting rifle and I planned on hunting and using, not as a show piece. Again, full disclosure.
I have fired a total of 13 rounds through the rifle at this time. I am still not sure I want to sell it, so I will continue load development using brand new Winchester brass, H-1000 powder, and 160 grain Nosler Accubond.
ASKING $2400 for the rifle delivered to your FFL. I am into the rifle for more than this (wife will surely kill me, but that is the nature of selling rifles. Ammirite?)
