The external audio input jack allows for connecting an external audio device such as a Walkman-type cassette, CD player, or an mp3 player to the caller. The sound will play through the caller's powerful 15-watt speakers, for plenty of volume in adverse conditions. This compact unit, comfortable for one-handed carrying and weighing only 24 ounces, fits easily in a fanny pack or large coat pocket. Operates 20-24 hours on 4 AA alkaline batteries (not included), or optional NiMH battery. Built-in antenna folds down for transport; external speaker jack; PG-1A adapter-ready.
