Winchester Stealth ll in .223 WSSM

Broke-in a new Stealth this weekend. Caliber is .223 WSSM and the chubby little rascals shot quite well. The rifle has been improved from the earlier Stealths. As some of you know I believe that the Stealths are some of the best shooting out of the box rifles for getting into long range shooting, now they are better.

Five shots went into the now-mandatory 1/2", although lots of the groups were much bigger. Seemed to improve as we ran the round count higer. First shot after cleaning is a flyer tho. I like to get 200 rounds through a barrel before starting to really test accuracy, need more shooting. Used Win. ammo and it performed well. After we get a base accuracy we may skim bed the stock to see how much impact that will have.

Factory 7 pound trigger dropped to 3 pounds and a bit of creep and over-travel taken out and this rifle is a nice shooter. Nice to see decent stock bolts and a very comfortable stock, includes two forward studs.

Mounted a 6.5-20 Leupold EFR on the rifle, Warne two piece bases in MK4 rings. Looks good and hopefully will be a shooter. Not sure it will do anything that a good .22-250 won't do, will chronograph to find that out.
