Nikon Mountaineer II ATB 10X25 Binocular
Hi, everyone. For about the past 12 to 15 yrs., I've been using a great little 10X25 porro prism Nikon binocular for my backpacking trips & turkey hunts. In spite of the small size, its optics are very good, & they fit the purpose very well for these trips when I want a small, lightweight binocular. Their optical quality has surpassed the other binoculars of comparable size that I've evaluated.
Now, I'm considering getting a new pair, and I've noticed that Nikon has updated that model, now called the Mountaineer II ATB 10X25. I see that they are still porro prism, which I prefer, but they are now waterproof, rubber armored, with click diopter adjustment, and have perhaps improved in other ways. But I'm really wondering if the image qualities have improved, such as sharpness, contrast, brightness, lens coatings, etc., and I'm also wondering about construction quality improvements (for ruggedness, waterproofness, etc.).
If any of you have any experience with these old and/or new binoculars 10X25 Nikon binoculars, I'd appreciate any insight you would share. By the way, for the trips when I want to take my full size glass, I use my Swarovski 10X50. Thanks much.
Oh, forgive me if I screw anything up in trying to send this message to you. I'm unfamiliar with this format.
