newbie, burris signature rings?

Does anyone know if 25 inch pounds on the ring caps is too much using these signature rings with the inserts? will the inserts prevent damage from over tightening? I only ask because when the shop installed my scope that's what they torqued the ring caps to. I've read that they should be between 15-20 inch lbs. Is another 5 inch pounds enough to damage the scope?? should I have them loosen up the rings?
