Bob Brackney built .25-06 Ackley Improved
Rem 700BDL carbon steel action blueprinted then hard cromed.
Hart 26" #5
Badger floor plate and trigger gaurd
2 lb trigger also done by Brackney
Is shooting pretty good for me. Best group .168 at 100 so far using Nosler 100 gr BT's
.282 Neck (real pita but worth it in the end)
This gun is a .300 RUM. Otherwise everything else is the same as the first gun. Same builder. You have to look at the ends of the barrels to tell them apart.
The .300 Rum now sports a 30MM 6.5X20X40LR VXIII now so it looks a bit differant than the .25-06AI which has the 6X18X40 Burris Fullfield II on it. I'm still working up a load that it likes but have gotten a .400 group for its tightest. Its also going to get a brake put on it before I go much further with its load development.
Probably two of the nicest rifles to shoot I have ever owned.
My Remington 700 LV in .223 with a 4X12X40AO Cabela's Alaskan Guide Premium. Shoots under 1/2" groups at 100 all day.
