HS Precision

I need some info please. I found a HS precision stock for a 700 sa that says "barrel channel has been opened to a #4 krieger barrel countour very tight fit". How would this work or NOT work on a 700 .308 stainless steel 24" factory barrel please?

Does the 308 have a sporter barrel or heavy barrel?

If its a sporter, it will likely drop into that stock with room to spare.

If its a heavy contour Rem barrel, the barrel channel will need to be opened up out toward the forend as the #4 Krieger is not an overly large barrel.

The barrel shank section of the barrel channel will not match up with either of the Rem contours but if that does not bother you to have a bit more air around the barrel in this area it makes no real difference as far as functionality.
