Caldwell New Ti pod

Has anyone seen or used these. Look like a harris but made of titanium. You can get them in solid mount or swivel head, and you can get them in black silver or desert color. It said they are 50% lighter than the compitition. They are 169.99 in the ney Midway cataloge. I would like to know how they compare to a harris of the same configuration. Thanks in advanced Joel..

Wow they do look just like the harris. I might have to fetch one. Although the $229.00 for the swivel mount is near parker-hale territory.

Re: Caldwell New Ti pod

Thanks for pointing this out. These might be exactly what I've wanted for a long time. I love my Harris 13.5"-27" to death as far as function goes, but there were a couple times on my last elk hunt where I left it behind. It doesn't do much good if it's not with you.

I just weighed the thing--20 OZ! No wonder I found myself taking it off at times. That's a lot of extra weight for a carry rifle.

From the pictures it looks like these will operate very similarly to the Harris. If it works anywhere near as well, I'll gladly pay the money to lose the weight.
