which bipod

I was about to purchase a new bipod for my new rifle. I want the Harris swivel 6-9" model. I was wondering about the version with the leg notches. The one I have doesn't have them. Are these handier than the friction lock ones?

I've got both types and by far prefer the one with the leg notches. I also have PodLocs on all of my bipods.

I think they are. I also prefer the PodLoc with the leg notch model. Legs that spring out instead of in always made more sense.
