If I'm not mistaken, they make a cover for them that screws on for manners at the range.

    I might be wrong but I think that the boss system comes ported and non ported. My brothers 300 win mag shot like a 243 just that dang ported boss system would hurt you.

    I have Bar Safari mark-II 270 weatherby mag with no boss on it and don't seem to kick much to me it shoot 3/4 inch groups at 100yards.Gabe
