Adjustable chek piece is stuck. Help!

I've got a McMillan a-5 stock with a thumb wheel adjustable cheek piece. My little bro borrowed my rifle one day and lost one of the two side screws. Anyways, I need to raise the cheek piece a little for a more solid cheek weld. It is stuck bottomed out and I cannot raise it at all. Bout bloodied my thumbs tryin to turn the wheel. Any help is surely welcome!
