According last hour's news cast the transition of wolf control from the Feds to the State of Idaho is scheduled for 28 FEB, 2008.
The management plan seems to indicate that the goal is to maintain 15 breeding pairs across the state. Maintenance will be on a region by region bases.
However, there are at least 27 organizations prepared to sue to prevent the transition of management to the State.:(
