My dealer just calls in your info and waits while they look you up, if you don't get red flagged or something it's in and out in under an hour for long guns and you have to do the waiting on the pistol unless you have the cc permit then its pick and run.
This reminds me I need to get my cc permit, all I have left is to pay the 50$.
All the guns that I've bought since they went to this system have taken less time to get approved than it took to fill out the form, be it at a gun show, auction or my local dealer. I DO have a CC permit tho.
The want me to send them fingerprints and beg to be afforded my rights.
This is not the America the founders fought and died for.
There was to be no database... I hate to say "I told ya so!" but, I told ya so!
The gun shop never told me I was denied when they knew 4 days ago. I was about to go through the roof when he said, "They didn't call you?" They are never getting my business again.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."-- Samuel Adams
I was held up for 12 hrs a couple of months ago. When I called the BATF and questioned why, they said that if a person has ever been fingerprinted, that throws up a red flag and your file has to be looked at by a real live person.
Teey said that they are overwhelmed with the number of applications coming into the office and they sometimes don't have enough people to physically look at the files immediately. He was nice on the phone and said that he'd call the store asap. I had tried to buy the gun at 8:00 p.m. and this was 12 hours later.
He said the office is working 7:00 a.m. Eastern until 2:00 a.m. Eastern.
