Quite fun and revealing.

I'm sure glad to know some one is using it!!!
Another question regarding Rt/R.

I'm working on a Swiss Navy project that is proving fruitful and your .exe has been quite a useful tool.

I took a Nosler bullet and measured the ogive length, BT length and meplat diameter.

I then used the 'Wild Itralian' method to determine RT/r which is, punch in values until the published bc was achieved.

I was really cracking up when I read that! Roy, you have a great
sence of humor. I would have not thought of that... Thanks for telling
me! LOL
Is this process reasonable and,

Quote:
The idea is using all the measurements to predict the "form factor"
and from there to obtain the BC7 . If you have Bryan's book, it has a bunch of diagrams with already done work, but if you get a bullet that you don't have info for, then by using his diagrams you can go through many of them and pretty much by comparing give your new bullet a Rt/R value that would put you real close.
If the ogive is lengthened what does that do to the RT/r or does it make any difference.

Quote:
If it's changed in any direction, that means either making it longer or shorter your Rt/R value will change and your BC of course will change also.
As I understand it, when you lengthen the ogive, it minimizes the shock wave
which is a great contributor to drag. So definitely the BC would increase.
BTW regarding being rewarded for your freebie .exe. Sneak a peek at Luke 6:38.

Thanks, I did; it's all the truth!
I hope that helps some!

Re: A small contribution to the shooting community

Thanks Eaglet.

I'll order the book!

Knowledge is power. The book with your 'tool' adds greatly to that power.

Again re: your tool....
