Shipping Ammo

I know that there is a carrier that will ship live amuntiion but "The UPS Store" says their contract won't let them, the USPS says they can't either. Is it only throught the UPS hub that you can ship Live Ammo?

Re: Shipping Ammo

Yes, in my experience only UPS hub locations will ship ammo. The shipping box must be labeled "ORM-D."

I use shot shell case boxes (already labeled ORM-D) to ship rifle and pistol ammo.

Re: Shipping Ammo

FedEx will also ship ammo, and you don't have to go to a "Hub"... you can drop it of at any FedEx box.

It needs to be marked "ORM-D", and "small arms ammunition".

Re: Shipping Ammo

That's good news on FedEx. Glad to read they're acting more reasonably. When I went to them a few years ago they wouldn't touch ammo with a ten foot pole. The ladies in the local store seemed upset that I would even ask them to ship such a dangerous commodity. Frustrated with their ignorance, I had them call their regional office. No dice...they just didn't do that.

The UPS hub shipped the boxes quickly, and with a knowing smile when I related my problems with FedEx.

Re: Shipping Ammo

DHL ships ammo in Canada. I would assume it would be the same in the States....
