cut a pair of shims and put one under each base. that way no need to lap the rings. Might have to resort to two shims under each. If you put the shim under only one it would effect your zero by about 1 MOA for each .001 of shim and you would need to lap.

However, by shimming both front and rear equally, no POI change and no lapping, you are just raising both bases a little to give you clearance.
