Russo Stocks? Lets see them!

I'm strongly considering a Russo stock for a rifle project, and from what I have seen they look great!

Let's see yours, and help me make the decision!!

Re: Russo Stocks? Lets see them!

I did the finishing on the stock, my work did not match the quality of the stock, but it's good enough for me.

This is a laminate A-5 on a short Action Savage. The barrel shown is the stock 300WSM barrel. I have a 338Edge barrel and brake for it that I need to get some pictures of as well.

Scope is a NF 3.5x15x50 NP-R1

Very nice, and very similar to what I am considering. What finish did you use?

You won't find any better customer service than what Joel provides , I will reccomme him and his stocks to anybody.

Here are a couple of the ones done

Rem model 7 , 6x47 lapua in a 28" Barlein 1-7 barrel , glued in single shot follower and custom made stainless steel piller bedded

This a Rem 700SA , 260 , 3 groove lilja barrel , all metal work done by Nathan Dagley (308nate) , it has a Terry Cross adjustable comb

Re: Russo Stocks? Lets see them!

Notice that the grip area has been heavly modified on both guns to fit my hand better , the palm swell is a bit bigger and the top of the grip is rounded over to be more comfortable and easy to get the thumb comfotrtably positioned , and this in one of the main reasons I like the laminated stocks along with the fact that they cost about half what a McMillan does and atkes about 1/10 the time to get it

Re: Russo Stocks? Lets see them!

James,

Incredibly nice!

Did you do the grip work or did Joel do it for you?

I have big hands, and I am considering leaving the stock unfinished so that I can modify it to make it more comfortable for me.

How do you like the adjustable comb? Have you tried it in comparison to one of Shawn Carlocks?

If you finished it, what finish did you use?

Straight old TruOil. I also pillar bedded it and used Steel Bed Putty. It shoots well to say the least. I have a Defensive Edge
Saddle style cheekpiece that I will be installing one of these days.
