I would like some input on the range of .45 long colts of various grains and if a tang sight is going to be worth putting on my Winchester model 94 .45LC
It's pretty difficult to divine this information without some knowledge of the particular projectile, muzzle velocity, angle of fire and environmentals (temp, altitude, etc). Give us a little more info and someone should be able to come up with something or point you to a website calculator for the info.
Pick up Elmer Keith's books, he did some longrange stuff with the 45 LC and other stuff. That's back in the days when writer's new something about guns. Now'a'day's so called gun writer's turn out comic books.
