Pistolgrip size: McHale vs A3 /A5
Popped into a Scottish riflebuilder a week or so ago and had my first ever opportunity to handle McMillan A-3 and A-5 stocks.....always liked the look of them in pictures.
...so, I was extremely surprised to find how small (vertically) the pistolgrip was on both models...almost not enough there for your little finger to grab ...in contrast, the McHale grip felt about right.
(..I also thought the short A-3 & A-5 pistol grips weren't helped by being too fat)
..I know that A-3 and A-5 users can't all be tiny-handed; why are the pistolgrips so short?
I notice the McMillan website describes the A-5 as sharing the A-3's "trim" pistolgrip I would have described them as "short and fat"
Are the A-2 or A-4 grips very different?
