Marioq, no hot gasses, just the impact of my hand on the bolt and the pressure rearward from the gasses on the bolt. The bolt has it's charge-handle sticking straight out the side, and is about 3/4" round. I used my palm in very much the same way you would use it on the bolt-assist of an AR-15. There is no noticeable swelling and no bruises, which doesn't surprise me. (I just don't bruise, no blood I guess).
Guess I'll try being a bit generic at first and let him ask the questions. I don't think he will have any idea of what a bolt handle is, or of the pressure it creates when fired.
