How much credit can you give to a sample size of 25? I wonder if they had those guys wear the heart monitor while they were mowing the lawn or even worse having sex? Who in their right mind would claim that increasing a overweight mans heart rate would be dangerous! I'll probably writeup a response to this researcher. What a sad attack on our heritage.

i do believe that men that are at risk of a heart attack put there self at risk even more if they deer hunt. I have seen it happen! When i was a kid we were running dogs, and a buck ran between me and the man on next stand, he got so excited he dropped dead right there on the spot! he was only 40, but come to find out he had very high blood pressure, but i know that seeing that buck played a big roll in his death!

I know what happens to my heart when i see a buck i swear its going to beat out of my chest. When i stop having this reaction i will stop hunting! Its a true rush, and i love it.

its not the deer hunting its the lack of getting in shape before the hunt

i went on a elk hunt i did alot of walking to get in shape dropped about 30 pounds and thought i was in pretty good shape well when i got up 95 hundred feet in the colorado rockies i found out i wasnt i did ok next one im going to do alot cardio work outs like running and sprints more hunters die in wisconson every year from heart attacks thank anything else

2 years ago I was archery elk hunting with my good friend in his mid 40's. We had been hiking all over up and down steep hills. Just as we were hiking back up to the vehicle he said "let me take a breather so I dont have a heart attack". Thought he was being sarcastic.
Went home got a call he was in the hospital later that night with a heart attack.
