Need some lube for my Savage?

I painted my Savage 12FV .308 this weekend. Before the paint job the bolt was not to smooth but now it's even stiffer. I plugged the barrel real good so no paint would get in there, but I didn't cover the opening where the internal mag sits.

I was wondering if there is some sort of lube that would make the bolt move a little smoother? I have read that savage bolts are not as good as others but is there anything that can be done to help it out a little?

Also, is there anyway to get a detachable mag for the Savage 12fv?

Thanks for the help, Wyatt

Did you paint the bolt lugs and/or the inside of the receiver?

That's why it's hard to operate. You need to take the paint out of the raceways at least...

I did that, but it's still not smooth. Is that because it's a savage?

Was it rough and sticky before you painted it?

Savage bolts need to be timed to be smooth. Savage Sharpshooters does it, just type that into google to find the website. Supposedly works wonders.
