N.O. Democate trying to pass ban in Louisiana

Well Guys it's that time again. Cederic Richmond is coming to the Red Stick trying to control New Orleans crime problems by blaming it on the guns and trying to fix it by banning assault weapons, kits, clips, etc. state wide with registration, yearly licensing and restricted sales when you want to sell down the road. Those in Louisiana should contact the judicial members and tell them not to support it.

If possible check out the legislature weekly schedule and go to the committee meeting when it comes up. Cedric always pulls a lot of N.O. people and always the N.O.P.D. chief (he is one fat a%% lier) that come and blame the guns from the crime and not the lack of parenting and moral fiber. For some reason personal responsibility is not big there.

One little cut out from his bill "A. A person possessing an assault weapon prior to August 15, 2007, shall either surrender the assault weapon to state police as provided for in R.S. 40:1828 or register the assault weapon and apply for a license to possess an assault weapon as provided for in this Section."

Another little Gem "Proposed law provides that a person who possesses an assault weapon which has not been registered shall be fined not more than $2,000, or imprisoned, with or without hard labor for not more than two years, or both."

It also outright bans high caps.

Hopefully we can shut down this monkey shine and get it killed in committee like last time.

Good luck.

Illinois senate passed their high cap ban under an impassioned plea by the Bill's sponsor. Again, too naive to realize that you cannot legislate safety nor legislate to the insane.

appreciate the well wishes been reading alittle more, it also states that
Any semiautomatic pistol, or any semiautomatic center-fire rifle, with a fixed magazine that has the capacity to accept more than ten rounds of ammunition is an assault weapon

disregard, just noticed the "centerfire" in your excerpt.

They're still idiots, though.
