MOA on Satellite Shot

I've searched and searched and I just can't seem to find the post where someone posed the question.....what is the MOA on the shot the Navy took at the satellite this past week. Well, I'm kind of new at this, but I took a shot at the math and here's what I came up with.....let me know if I'm wrong.....

There are 1760 yards per mile.

The satellite was at about 150 miles altitude.

1760x150 = 264,000 yard to the target

1.047 = 1 moa at 100 yards

264,000 / 100 = 2,640

1.047x2,640 = 2,764.08

So, if the Navy took a direct shot at the satellite and they were off by 1 moa, they would miss by 2,764.08 inches or 230.34 feet.

did you take into consideration the rotation of the earth, northern hemisphere or southern, the change in air density and temp as the missile travelled upward? And finally what is the correct amount of SWAG on a shot like that? Great job on the math though...ha ha.

Accuracy is always great when the bullet can adjust its own path in flight.

My friend planned that shot. I could ask him but he'd have to kill me.
