measuring length of pull?

Can someone give me the procedure for measuring the length of pull? Looking at some stocks for my son.Thanks in advance.

I beleive the Rem 7 is a "small" rifle. There are several techniques for shortening stocks so they can be lenghtend again.

B64, Many smiths measure the LOP by measuring from the bent elbow from the joint to the finger tip bent like shooting position. Remember to allow for clothing for hunting. Most folks can shoot a short LOP better than long. Model 7 comes with a "youth" stock option which is even shorter than t he regular one. Always can shorten a stock with a good smith.
