Re: London Humour
Yeah, I live in a place where I never needed, nor had a desire to own a big 50. Now, I sorta would like to have one, my freedom has been abridged.
Nothing like in England, where even the police don't know much about firearms in general, and the average citizen doesn't own one.
We deal with the same political correctness. Profiling would turn up a lot of sleeper cells and illegals willing and able to blow me and everyone else to smitherines.
There has to be a way of dealing with the threat without being blindfolded and our hands tied behind our backs?
I say, the illegal guy with the expired work permit deserves no sympathy. Reading some of the above comments from people a lot more familiar with the situation, it may well be time to rein in the foreigners and make them accountable.
Sooner or later, the terrorist types are going to push regular people a bit too far, and they should rise up and demand that the government protect them from religious zealots. If that doesn't happen....at some point, you remember the vigilantes of the old west?
I probably sound like a nut case, myself, but what is the ultimate solution? These people have had everything their own way for far too long.
And, their's is not a righteous cause. Example: All nonbelievers are infidels. All infidels are enemies. All enemies should be killed.
The whole idea of blowing up strangers on an airplane, a bus, train or on the street corner is so insane, that hardly needs mentioning.
But, who is calling a spade, a spade? They have no valid position. The old guys, clerics, whatever(?) why do they indocrinate and recruit young boys? If their cause is just, they should be leading by example. Does anybody expect this to happen?
All of this does nothing for the image of Islam, in general. Brotherly love, turn the other cheek, love thy neighbor and other Judeo/Christian concepts. A bunch of idiots in robes and sandals, garb that went out of style around the time of Christ.
The main leadership of this religion should be taking a firm, unalterably opposed position on what is happening, labeled as martyr, but more accurately described as cold blooded murder. Not the poor cop trying to defend the citizens, that's not execution or murder. Forget the hand wringing, and take a sober look at the situation facing civilization.
In my judgement; It is, (regrettably) desperate times call for desperate measures.
Good hunting. LB
