Kimber 8400 vs 84M

Hoping someone can educate me a bit. I have a Kimber Montana 8400 in 325wsm. I love the caliber and want to keep it. Unfortunately, I learned that the 84M is over a pound lighter than my 8400. I do some backpack hunting here in CO and now I have the itch to buy one but dont want to switch to a 338 Fed or 7mm-08. Can anyone tell me the difference between the two rifles and if there's any skeletonizing I can to to my 8400 to reach the weight of the 84M? Thanks
