Gentalmen ,

I'm about to wack a hornets nest with a stick.I don't claim to know all and am just learning Long Range.I have seen the videos of John burns shots . I have listen to people talk about his skill or lack of it.Some say he dos'nt shoot a 7 mag style gun at all. Other say that his shots are mostly 450 yds, video shows alot. I know in anything you do in life there are people that want to chew you up and spit you out.But if you are as skilled and cocky enough prove it and shut everyone up then do it.
Back here in the East we have Williamsport 1000 yd range
I 'd like to see John Burns come and shoot against some one here [ not that this means anything ] if he is as skilled as he claims then , he will shut the world up.
If he fails then his credibilty is at stake.

Sounds like you've issued a challenge but to and for what purpose??

Do you believe for some reason that John Burns needs to prove something to the Williamsport folks?

John Burns is a hunter showing hunting scenarios, not a target shooter showing target shooting scenarios. (Williamsport is a target range.)

I don't believe you'll get much relief from this thread or (?) challenge.

No not at all , no targets pick something steel or milk bottle what ever. If someone is skilled who ever they maybe
them prove to the non believers that you are as good as you say.Mr Burns shoots rocks , then he should be able to hit a milk jug at 1000. My pointis if he's as good as his movies than prove it and shut everyone up. Case closed

Sounds like you are the one doubting him. I think you are seriously mistaken in the fact that you think he cares what other people think about his shooting skills. I doubt he cares about proving anything. I was just talking to a guy at my local range that knows John very well and had just gotten back from a trip with him. They did a lot of shooting together and John is apparently "no novice" at this game.

I was using dial and shoot at ranges past 1000yds at least 20 years before John Burns.

It'll cost you about $1,500.00 to $3,000.00 to cover John Burns expenses. I 'll come up for half price, say an even $1,000.00 and bring my 30 year old Ruger #1 in 7mmWby and my 30 year old Redfield scope with the first generation Kenton turrets also 30 years old. I'll bust any rock or any gong or beer cans or shoot lizards off of rocks from 800yds to 1400 yds.

Just to make it more interesting I will take all the numbers off my dials and replace them with cartoon characters. Maybe Yosimte Sam for 800yds, Wiley coyote for 900 yds daffy duck for 1000yds, Elmer Fudd for 1100yds, Bugs Bunny for 1200 yds, Road runner for 1300yds and for 1400yds Cleghorn the Leghorn. No numbers on the dial at all, just funny drawings.

I'll be waiting on you to send money.

P.S. I really need the money bad, so you can send more than $1,000.00 if you want to. I'm going to finsh putting the new rear suspension in the vette this weekend and then I'll need about $1,600.00 worth of TT II wheels and about $1,200 of F1s. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
