Illinois Senate Bill 1007

FYI, Illinois Senate Bill 1007 was a bill closing a loophole in the sexual exploitation of children law. Yesterday, Senator Kotowski changed the entire text of the bill to criminal law banning "Large capacity ammunition feeding device" greater than 10 rounds.

How nice.
Time to call your state senator again.

Re: Illinois Senate Bill 1007

I think they put a moritorium on bringing up new legislation, as they already had to extend the deadline for existing bills to be approved or canned, because they are behind in their work.

This seemed like the easiest way to get it in, was to take something "expendable" and just change it.

Jackass is polite for two reasons. One, the obvious 2nd Amendment implications, and two, why toast the Child Exploitation bill? Is it OK for a few more to get molested as long as he bans an eleven round magazine?

I hope that they at least put the original legislation onto another bill.

Re: Illinois Senate Bill 1007

During a very lengthy debate today, the "ill" senate passed this bill 31-26-1. I believe House approval will be needed before its sent to the governor to be signed.

Sad.
