What a coincidence! Those are exactly like I am going to build:
Remington Model 700 Used
.270 caliber
Stock stock
sling swivel studs (rusted) Uncle Mike's
Leupold 2.5 x 8 (will clean lenses and try to find scope caps by Butler Creek--lost in woods last season
Maybe will clean barrel and check zero
Search hunting clothes for bullets
Plan to kill many B & C trophies
Work six days a week like a dog, maybe ,if lucky, hunt three hours on powerline and kill doe at 300 yards behind house
I'll post a picture when this beauty is done!

I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN FACINATED WITH THE 408 CHEYTAC BUT IT WAS SO EXPENSIVE TO SHOT BUT WHAT YOUR DOING COULD BE JUST THE TICKET. COULD YOU GIVE ANY INFO ON BALLISTICS, I AM SURE IT WILL BE ABLE TO SHOT TO 2K AND PROBABLY FURTHER WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. MAYBE EVEN 3K. I GUESS YOU CALL IT FOAG (FATHER OF ALL GUNS). VERY INTERESTED IN YOUR PROJECT KEEP US POSTED IDAHO PREACHER.
I already have a PGW timberwolf .338LM with S&B 4-16x50 PMII mildot scope.
My new one (I have all the parts except scope), just waiting for assembly:
PGW coyote single action, with T-wolf honey-comb bedding block, int 20 MOA base
28" Broughton 5C 7/270WSM .311 neck, Kiff reamer
Masterclass Prone stock, 3-way butt, magnetic cheek piece
8-32x56 NXS NF R2
Kelbly double screw 30mm rings
Harris 6-9" swivel bipod with PGW lock
Jewell trigger
This one is for F-class, I hope to get at least MOA out of it!!!!!!!!???!!!
OK This rifle has been built and rebuilt hundreds of times in my mind. The stuff below is a copy and paste from a spreadsheet so it will look fairly sloppy but I'm hoping it is readable. Nothing is firm untill I find the funds to send it to a gunsmith and any input is appreciated.

Well there you have it. There will undoubtably be some changes as time goes along and as I eliminate some of the question marks above.
I will be making the stock because there are some "Top secret" ideas that I want to use. None of the things listed here are a secret to anyone that knows much about stocks.
This will be for stretching out my useable range on deer and elk from the .308 and of course will be used on LR varmints. And yes there are plans forming like dense clouds in my mind for a "Highlander" rifle project as well. Something in the .30-.338 area. But first things first.
