I need to move!

Please give me some good advice. I have to leave this Socialist State they call Oregon! This last Governors race is the straw that broke this ailing back!

I am not rich, but I have great credit scores. I am still above water on my current home, but it going down everyday! I don't need to look for employment, can't work.

I don't need much, a conservative government and good hunting along with strong 2nd amendment support.

I would like to find some acreage with a modest house away from people. I can fix it up if it is livable.

I am looking at Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. But have no idea of what areas to look at that would meet my needs.

Thanks for your help.

Ray

Take your pick. Those were the 3 that came to mind when I began reading your post. I think Idaho is strong conservative. Frankly, all 3 are. If Montana, look at Missoula! I wouldn't rule out Utah either. I like Casper, and Cheyenne, WY. I think Boise is a beautiful city.

Good luck with whichever you choose. When my daughter graduates high school, I'm moving the family out that way too.

Missoula is a liberal cesspool. If you enjoy the gay rights parades and PETA parades of Portland, then Missoula is for you. The University cities (even Bozeman as of late) are very liberal. Pick any other town and you'll be fine. Whitefish is also full of Patagonia wearing rich hippies.

Just my .02

That's good to know. I was referring more of geography and location when naming cities, and not politics. But I wasn't clear.

So, the university cities are ruled out. Thanks for that tip!

Re: I need to move!

There are some states there are very friendly to people that are retired or do not need to work and are very conservative. Do a bit of searching for states with no state income tax.
Here is something that might help.
Best retirement states guides

Re: I need to move!

Thanks for the replies.

Some more info that may help.
I DON'T want to live anywhere with CCR's or an HOA.
No retirement areas!
I prefer some place secluded, perhaps off grid if solar is feasible.
I want to be able to shoot on my property, it would be nice if it backed up to BLM or NFS land.

Re: I need to move!

If you are looking for conservative, Missoula is absolutely not the place. Trust me. I cant wait to graduate college and get out of this hell hole. The hunting is supposed to be good around here but there are so many frickin people out hunting, that I have been driving 140 miles one way to go back to my home town to hunt every weekend since season opened. Im tired of all the hippies, libtards, tree huggers, and gay/lesbians. There are many many great towns in MT that would be awesome to live in and Missoula and Bozeman arent them. Dillon is the only college town I would ever live in again. I went to school there for a year and only moved because they didnt offer my major and Missoula did.
