Holders pushing for "Assult Weapons Ban"

Your A.G. Holder has big plans for the renewal of the "assult weapons ban" apparently our semi auto rifles end up in Mexico as fully auto military grade weapons, with grenade launchers.

One more reason for building a wall and controlling it like the DMZ. A breech of the wall should be considered a national security issue. But Holder thinks a gun ban will stop the drug problem.

Just the very beginning in my opinion. If you are not an NRA member and a member of other organizations that will help protect our 2nd amendment rights. I would think about signing up. I feel that and letters to our congressmen and women on a regular basis is the least we can do. If we choose to do nothing, then the hunting and shooting world we know today will soon be gone.

I will add, one may also consider what is going on today and in the next two years, when voting in the 2010 congressional elections.

I bought a stripped lower last week, and will be ordering my upper in the next few days.

If you read the article closely, I think they are going to attempt some sort of massive "reworking" of various gun control measures, such as "child proofing", tagging, taxing, "cop killer" bullets, etc.

I swear this is going to be the longest 4 years of my life.

If you want an upper or any AR parts, better order them NOW. I ordered another upper a couple weeks ago and the lead time was 16 weeks.

We have a socialist for a president and a baby killing democrat . I say shame on anyone who voted for the liberal we have in office today . He supports late term abortion and he voted against the born alive act wich means if you don't already know. Any baby that made it through the abortion and was born alive obama said it would be a burdon to the mother if a doctor gave it medical assistance. The born alive act supports the baby's right to get medical attention . God will judge he still does not like murder and he's angry with the wicked sodomites .

I'd love to know how reinstating the "ban" will slow the flow of arms to mexico? It's written like they just come up here buy them, check in at the border, and cross with arms like it's legal to do because the "ban" isn't currently in operation.

I saw a video of Holder saying they weren't looking to do what the article says they are.

I sent an email to my Congressman Jason Altmire‏ about this topic below is his reply and a link to the attachment.

Dear Mr. Mason,

Thank you for previously contacting me about gun control. I appreciate hearing from you.

I wanted to take a moment to update you on my efforts to protect your Second Amendment rights. Recent remarks by Attorney General Eric Holder indicated that the administration would seek to reinstate the 1994 ban on assault weapons, which expired in 2004.

These "assault weapons" are often not automatic weapons, but rather shoot one round per pull of the trigger. Many are passed down from generation to generation. These weapons are used for the same purposes as other legal firearms: competitive shooting, hunting and self-defense. I also do not see a correlation in crime rates, which began to fall prior to the ban and continued after it expired.

For these reasons, I joined with sixty-four other members of Congress concerned about the Second Amendment rights of Americans and wrote a letter to Attorney General Holder, urging him to reconsider the plans to reinstate this ineffective and intrusive policy. I have attached the letter for your reference.
