Use as powerful a load as you can. The thing is that if the kill does not go well and the animal flops all over the hill the kid will get sick of it.

Any adult should be able to shoot a 260 or 7mm-08 or even a 308. Get one of those and download the practice ammo for now. We owe it to the game to put it down asap and not fool around.

The first thing to do is to put a Decelerator pad on it. Those make a huge difference.
