Buying on Ebay

I'm looking for a Zeiss 3.5x10x44 scope for my new 338/378 on Ebay. I wonder if anyone here has any advice about buying a scope there?

Re: Buying on Ebay

check the sellers rating, make sure they are in the USA. see their feedback, if any negitives and how much shipping is. you might be thinking your getting a heck of a deal, but when shipping turns out to be $50 your gunna be upset. i wouldnt be buying anything overseas, i got lucky when buying 7pairs of zeiss westpoint charlie binoculars, but wont take the risk again. good luck to you

Re: Buying on Ebay

JM's advice is right on. Also look at the sellers # of transactions, and see if their feedback is as a seller. I purchased that exact scope, a Conquest 3.5-10x44 Z-plex from a seller named elkhunter777. It was new in the box with all the paperwork, just as advertised. I never did end up using that scope. If you want to make an offer on it PM me. Otherwise I suggest you see what elkhunter777 has for sale.

good luck

Re: Buying on Ebay

I've purchased several scopes on eBay - some from folks that are mostly buyers. I think it's the best place to get a good deal on a slightly used scope.
An experienced seller should know how to pack it - but I've got other items poorly packed (micrometers)

All good advice, I might add always try to buy something expensive like that with paypal, or at least a credit card. That way if someting goes wrong you have some recource.

Never send a check or money order!!!

Re: Buying on Ebay

i have been doing ebay for some time now. when i sell something i will only except a MO.. but when your selling you must accept the fact most people dont have the cash right there to spend, so they put it on their credit card.. checks are no good to me, ill toss one out before i take her to the bank. paypal is great for your late night auction winnings, pay for her as soon as she ends, and hopfully your seller is watching and will ship out next day. electronic money still bothers me anyways. just keep your head up about it, if something doesnt seem right, dont bid.. there will always be another one..
