American Bison Zoology ??

Probably a question I could research on line,, but I know some of you guys have had to watched them and thought about their evolutionary history. My question , the width of the head and the oversized front shoulder to rear end ratio, in 1-3 foot snows and ice, foraging for most of the year in these conditions,,, created this animals conformation right??, possibly from the Muskox, but the conformation is way different with no link in between ????, Man I would love to see them pushing threw 3-4 of powder..Kind Regards...
