What Dick said in the article is true from my reading of different articles in other newspapers:

Now how about these articles regarding Jackson Hole Elk herd:

Article 1 5/29/06

Article 2 5/30/09

My understanding is that at the start of winter there were only 20 calves per 100 cows. The article number are based on 20% as 100%. Cool calculation, huh [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

Sounds political to me....
