Re: Whats the best cold temp bolt lube ?
I've been using Dupont's Dry Film Teflon spray when it is below freezing.
First thing is to use brake clean to get all the oil and grease off. Then spray all the disassembled parts like the bolt, firing pin ect and let dry . When it's dry, reassemble and go.
The stuff is slicker than snot in the rain and repels water so the chances of water getting in the mechanism and freezing up seem to be less.
Since I began using Dry Film Teflon, I've never had a freeze-up.
When the weather gets warmer, I go back to using a teflon grease on the bolt and lugs.
