Re: What powder for 200gr Accubond in .300 Win mag?

Duff, My 300WM is a Savage 112bvss and I can't get anywhere near the lands if I load them to fit the mag. Fortunatly the Accubonds don't seem to mind the long jump. I load mine to 3.420 OAL +or- .002, stick them in the magazine and they shoot .5 inch groups if I do my part.

Working the load development for a 300WM, I have tried RL22, H1000 and IMR4350. I'm most impressed with RL22 and getting substantially better velocity with equal accuracy.

200gr Accubonds in my 300wm are sitting on H4831sc.

They also like the H1000, but I get more accuracy out of the H4831...

I hope that the OP has since moved on considering the thread was in 2004.

A max load of Retumbo has worked excellent for both velocity and accuracy for the 200 grain Accubond in my 26 inch 300WM. Will take it out to 800 as soon as it warms up.
