what 06 wildcat

I have a bunch of once fired 30-06 cases that have been once fired but i have no need for another 30 caliber since I have a win mag already. What would you wildcat this case to for long range deer gun say 700 yards?

6.5-06 Ackley improved. Hard to not like a 140 at 3080.

Re: what 06 wildcat

Both of the above ... Either or.. hahah

I am kind of a 6.5 fan personally but you will never ever hear me knock a .25

Get some H1000 and some WinLR primers.... BAM!!

Either of those you mentioned will do awesome with H1000. For that matter IMR7828ssc or H4831 would do extremely well....

What about the 6mm variant and how hard is it to neck the 06 cases down to 6mm or 6.5.

I believe the 6.5 variants are better made with 25-06 brass but not that you can not use the 30-06 case. A 338-06 is a really efficient cartridge. I believe that a 225ish grain at 2700ish reasonable to expect.
