Re: Ultrasonic Case Cleaning Made Easy

I tryed your cheap and cleen recipe and it worked like you said, great. My old method was to tumble, resize, and than tumble again for a short time to remove the resizing lube. What do you do to clean lube from brass? And what lube do you use?
Thanks

Harv -- plain old RCBS lube till its all...then probably a water soluble lube.

I line them up after sizing then take each one and wipe it with an alcohol sprayed paper towel, then put it back in the box. 70-91% isopropyl..

You probably use a bushing neck sizer and not an expander ball. I still do it the old way and need to get the lube out of the inside of the neck. Mabe a run with soapy water would get the lube out?

Re: Ultrasonic Case Cleaning Made Easy

Great information, thanks! I'm having great success final rinsing my brass to remove case lube with Orange Blast concentrated citric cleaner mixed 1 part cleaner to 4 parts hot water. I'm curious what the citric cleaners would do in the ultrasonic cleaners? Has anyone tried it??

Re: Ultrasonic Case Cleaning Made Easy

Harv -- i use some of both. I need to de-lub after expanding and neckturning...so i'll figure some way to get it out of there!

Over -- citric acid should work similarly

I'll try your Orange blast stuff on case lube and see what happens. Also plan to try heavy detergent and laquer thinner.
