Depending on the barrel material, loads, care, space between shots ect... You can expect between 700-1000 rounds of solid accurate shots.
Yes it can vary greatly. It is similar to the 300 RUM in the barrel lif department.
I know guys who have barrels that are "shot out" yet still kill game at long range with them. If a .25 MOA rifle gets to the point where it can only hold 1 MOA it is "shot out" yet is still a very capable rifle. Shot out is a subjective term.
Long range shooting is a process that ends with a result. Once you start to focus on the result (how bad your last shot was, how big the group is going to be, what your buck will score, what your match score is, what place you are in...) then you loose the capacity to focus on the process.
