Twist rate?

Hey guys/gals, I am wanting to build a .280 A.I. & was wondering what would be the optimum twist rate? I will likely for the most part be loading 140gr. bullets.

Thanx.

Re: Twist rate?

Hi get a 1 in 9 twist barrel it will stabalise projectiles up to the 175gr Sierra's and 180gr Bergers. I believe you will find a projectile like the 175gr Sierra best for long range shooting you should be able to get above 2800fps in a 26" barrel with it and that will be supersonic past 1200 yards.

Cheers Bill
