I have ordered a new long range .338 for 2009 which should be ready in a few months.
  • Barrel brand - Lilja, length - 30"SS, profile - one up from Sendero.
  • Action Remington 700 SS
  • Brake brand. D.E.
  • Stock brand, Sendero H.S.
  • Bottom metal
  • Cartridge .338 EDGE
  • Trigger - Rem.
  • Scope - Nightforch 5.5-22x56 NXS R1
  • Scope base and rings - Nightforce steel base - titanium rings
  • Smith - Shane Clancy (Australia)
  • Expected weight of rig - 15lb all set up with scope and rings etc.
Rig is to be used on long range shots on Sambar deer, expect to load 300 SMKs or a good 250gn match bullet. Can't wait.

  • Action brand, model, coating if any: Winchester m70 pushfeed, action accurized and trued, sides milled, bolt fluted, barrel threads enlarged to 1 1/16" and it all ceramic coated matte black
  • Brake brand...or NONE
  • Stock brand, model, color Brand Undetermined at this point, Tan color with black webbing
  • Bottom metal Stainless floorplate, shaved thinner and ceramic coated matte black
  • Cartridge 25-06 Ackley Imp
  • Trigger Factory @3lbs
  • Scope Undetermined at this point
  • Scope base and rings Talley lightweight once piece rings/bases matte black
  • Smith if already chosen Secret
  • Expected weight of rig without scope and mount Don't know, maybe 6lbs

  • Not sure on weight, estimated to be around 13-14lb

I ordered this one last year and it should be here by next month. I really can't wait to get this puppy in my hands and see it shoot.

338 Lapua Improved no neck turn, min SAAMI
Lilja 1.350 tapered to .820 finish at 30" 1-10 twist
Phoenix Machine SS action with PTG firing pin assembly
HS bottom metal
Phoenix 20 MOA base integrated with recoil lug. Convert to either 30 or 40 MOA
Holland Radial brake
McMillian A5
Basix trigger with safety, set at 1.5 lbs
Hornady custom dies
Put together by John Myer, Custom Gunsmithing of Boyce VA.
Looking for NF 5-22x

Build Two

2 yr project on parts gun in 300 Rum no neck turn, min SAAMI

Rem 700 LA converted to 40X single shot with bottom of rcvr welded up, newbolt welded on and timed
PTG firing pin
Basix trigger with safety
Complete Action blueprinting , with bolt sleeved and badger bolt knob
30" SS Lilja HV contour 1-10 with Shrewd brake
Russo A5 with spray on rough finish
20 MOA Farrel base
Action and barrel coated with moly finish in OD
Gunsmith John Myers, Custom Gunsmithing Boyce VA
Leupold 8-25 with Varmint reticle TPS rings

Build (not really build, just conversion) three

Savage BVSS in 6mm BRDX (BR Ack Imp with long neck)
SS 28" Shilen 1-8 .272 no neck turn chamber
Set up as remington with no barrel nut
Accu trigger
Set up as Fclass gun with burris double dovetail bases, signature rings and 24x Bushell with small dot and 1/8 minute clicks
Gunsmith- Jeff Walker, Walker Custom Rifles, Culpepper VA

  • Undecided on scope, but choices include Lpld 4.5x14 VXIII, Zeiss Conquest, or Huskemaw.
