Re: sticky bolt??

When the bolt is harder to open after firing a round that is sticky bolt lift associated with high pressure or a poorly cut chamber.

A bolt that is hard to pull back is just a sticky bolt , maybe dirty or may be in a bind , from poor machining or maybe from the action being in a bind from over tightened action screws

Re: sticky bolt??

Remove the firing pin assembly and try the bolt on an empty chamber. If it works smoothly the bolt fit is OK. If not you need to find out why and fix it. A bolt handle that is hard to lift after a round has been fired is usually the result of high pressure. If the handle lifts easy but is hard to pull back that can mean your brass is sticking because it needs to be body sized. Could also mean a dirty chamber or dirty brass.

Re: sticky bolt??

If you use inline dies and get hard bolt lift tell you the case needs to be resized or shoulders set back. I get that sometimes after 5 firing on a mag.
