Sighting 308

ok I've got my new 700 rem and it's a 308 with a 3x10 40mm
scope mounted. Question to those that may know-at 25yards
when I sight it in, what should my point of impact on target be? Dead on zero or a little high. the longest shot for me would be 200yards and most shots will be under 100yards. Any pointers would be of help

Re: Sighting 308

Factory ammo 150grain Rem i'm told that 165grain tear meat up. What I'm told. I know my 30-06 165grain did, so I guess it's true. Not much into hand loads at this time. Maybe in future

Re: Sighting 308

Sight in 1/2 to 3/4 in. low at 25 yards, should put you with in an inch or so at 100.

Re: Sighting 308

Using the ballistics data on the remington web site, and assuming a scope height of 1.5 inches above the bore, I have calculated the following 25 yard drop for a 100 yard zero

Premier Scirocco Bonded .308 150gr Bullet Plots 0.69 Inches Low at 25 Yards

Premier Core-Lokt Ultra .308 150gr Bullet Plots 0.68 Inches Low at 25 Yards

Remington Express .308 150gr Bullet Plots 0.68 Inches Low at 25 Yards

No practical difference between them.
